Challenge
Millennium & Copthorne (M&C) tied up with a 3rd party travel vendor to offer travel discounts in the UK. They wanted to target domestic leisure travellers who were looking for specials & packages in the UK, and to push sales of their hotel rooms. To this end, BLUE was charged to create a microsite residing on the M&C CMS.
Solution
Using Google Maps, BLUE created an interactive, destination & theme-centric site that allows visitors to visualize Points Of Interest (POI) and find related information within the same space. BLUE customised the map for M&C by including POIs and M&C hotels. Visitors are able to interact with the map and create their own itinerary by adding a POI or hotel to their itinerary.
Inspiration for the site design was drawn from Monty Python – an iconic pop ambassador of UK culture in the 70’s, which would relate well to the domestic visitors.
